Pen in hand, Rob, AK6RM reports, "The Yuma Hamfest took place on Feb 16-17 of 2018.  The weather was great both days with the mornings around 50 and day time highs in the mid 70's.  Attendance was light on Friday but Saturday was another story.  A full complement of seminars took place on both days.  The most interesting for me was the Flex seminar on the "Advances of SDR" presented by Steve Hicks, VP of Engineering.  Keep an eye on Flex, they are going to change the market once the masses understand the true capability of well designed SDR radios.  They took several IC-7610 trade-ins for their new 6600M radio if that tells you anything!

Caught live in the top photo, some of the 7.155 group attendees were Garry K9WZB (the founding member of the group) along with Sid K7SID, Rocco N6KN, Ron N6XT, Mike N6YSK (who may have won the K3S), Rob AK7RM and Robert N7VD. Members of the Vintage AM Net were also in attendance with Ron, K2RP from the Palomar Amateur Radio Club.

Several OEM's and distributors attended the 2 day event, like Flex Radio (showing off their new line of rigs like the 6600M, a complete HF rig that requires no PC to operate), Palomar Engineering with Bob, AK6R; HRO of Phoenix, Pacific Antenna, the DX Store and Radiosport headsets, to name a few.

They even launched a balloon!
